Pain free dentistry

Pain free dentistry

No dental visit should be unpleasant or uncomfortable.

At tooth and care our dental specialists are trained to ensure that every clinical procedure is carried out painlessly, safely and effectively - For child or for adult.

This is done with the help of modern technology, which has enabled us to ease any potential discomfort dental treatment may entail.

METHODS USED

In-Chair Entertainment

Distraction is a powerful tool in overcoming the fear and anxiety of potentially uncomfortable procedures. Using Netflix coupled with stereo-sound earplugs, you will be able to drown out the sensations of dental treatment with the sights and sounds of cinema.

Inhalation Sedation

Penthrox, a hand-held medical inhaler often employed for children.  It is an analgesic which means that it offers pain relief and relaxation to its users.
The dental specialist utilizes penthrox through a hand held inhaler  to produce a pleasant, calming effect. This not only reduces fear and anxiety, it also increases the amount of anesthesia a patient feels, enabling them to better tolerate injections or other potentially uncomfortable procedures.
Inhalational sedation is extremely safe and reliable in the hands of a trained dental specialist, and its effects almost instantly wear off once the procedure is finished.

Sedative Medicines

Some patients may require a little more help to overcome their fears. For these individuals the dentist, or your GP, can provide a sedative medicine, either in tablet or liquid form, or as an injection. Patients who choose to use sedative medicines may become drowsy but will still be able to co-operate with the dentist. The effects of sedative medicine take some time to wear off and your dentist will tell you how long the drugs will take to clear from your body.

Gentle Touch

Sometimes your body needs a gentle helping hand to heal. Gentle touch utilizes the body’s own healing process to help speed up recovery and aid in the healing of your mouth or teeth surgery.
Feel at ease with our professional nurse department.  They are great with children and can help you or your kids feel more confident about visiting the dentist.

Motivation

We also have a Bravery Award (a small gift) for children just to keep them motivated and to take pride in their achievement of being brave. With this children look forward to their next appointment, with less fear but more confidence!
